Ari Knazan Background:
Ari has been teaching Jiu Jitsu in Victoria BC since 2003 and formally ran Fierce Martial Arts for 18 years. He has now moved his focus in training a specialized group of students in the art of self defence and defensive tactics using Jiu Jitsu. Ari is the highest ranking and most experienced Japanese Jiu Jitsu instructor on Vancouver Island (under Soke Steve Hiscoe of the Canadian Jiu Jitsu Union) also a proud 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Master Pedro Sauer and Professor Keith Owen.
Ari is also a C4C certified adjunct Instructor under Chad Lyman (Las Vegas Nevada). C4C-PJJ is the gold standard for police use of force training and conducts training throughout North America.

In 2017, Ari received his Renshi Certificate (Training Mastery), from the Canadian Jiu Jitsu Union (Soke Steve Hiscoe and Hanshi Ed Hiscoe) for 15 + years of teaching service. Ari is also the Co-Founder of INVICTUS, the world wide movement dedicated to teaching Jiu Jitsu to law enforcement.
Dan Phillips Background:
Dan was the first student at Fierce Studio in 2003 ( then Bujitsu Academy) and has dedicated his time to teaching students for the past 2 decades. His patient and detail approach makes him and excellent instructor.
Alex Erwin Background:
Alex started out at the age of 15. He was a skinny kid who couldn't even do one push up. Today, he has grown in to a powerful martial artist who likes to focus on the technical aspects of the art.
